Many pastors have found inspiration, strength, and a navigable pathway to revitalization for themselves and their church through Church Life. We are excited to offer a brand new Church Life Cohort beginning in January 2025! Church Life Cohorts was an incredible resource for me as I was voted in to my first lead pastorate role. The information I learned paired with the excellent mentorship from its leaders has continued to be invaluable to me. Since attending Cohorts, I now utilize the principles and concepts on a daily basis and am working with our church’s leadership team to walk through and apply those same ideas within our church’s specific ministries. As a pastor, it can seem daunting to figure out what the next step is to move your church forward. One of the best things I did during my 25 years of pastoral ministry was attend the Church Life Cohort offered by the Indiana District.
- It showed me how to take the next step the Holy Spirit shows you to take.
- It gave me clear lanes of ministry on which I could take my church.
- It provided friendships with those going through Church Life with me or who had gone through it before and became mentors and friends.
- It helped me choose to hire new staff based on the church's needs within the Church Life model.
I actually went through the cohort twice—once by myself and a second time with my associate pastor. It was helpful for him to see it firsthand so we could walk through it together.

In 2013, I started my journey with Church Life Cohort and it was the biggest investment the church did. I was given the tools to take our church to the next level. Since then, I have taken 2 years of Church Life and Refreshers classes. We have seen our church grow from 95 to over 300. All because we put the necessary systems in place to allow for growth. I have taken our staff and leadership team through it and periodically we go over certain areas from time to time to help us to continue to grow. It’s not an overnight process to church growth but a foundation to growth. It took us two years after Church Life to see the processes take root in our church life. If you feel stuck and don’t know what to do next, let me encourage you to let your church invest in you Church Life Cohort.
